Why a Blog?
How in the world did I end up with a blog? Well, a few reasons, first being - I like to talk. A lot. If you know me and just chuckled to yourself and possibly even rolled your eyes, love you too! HA. Actually though, I love conversing with people and forever learning about all the things - mainly home decor and DIY related things and also things around ways to help make our home and day to day function at its optimal, even in the simplest of moments (hello, type A). In a space, I thrive on simplicity, cleanliness (which doesn’t always mean magazine photo placed, it means CLEAN) and comfort! I love to sit on my livingroom floor or my couch, watch my kids play and drink hot coffee, if this resonates with you - I think we will hit it off juuuuust fine!
I started this blog to share our journey in essentially rebuilding our 100+ year old home and starting our lives and family in it. It sure isn’t all perfect, but it sure as heck works for us :) And if I can share small tips and tricks through photos and brief descriptions that can help someone else love their home as much as we love ours, well hey, I’d call that a win /win for all!
Why Shiplap & Linen?
Welp, if you don’t love both of these things…I’m not sure this is going to workout… it’s not you, its me. 😆❤️ Really though, shiplap in any form be it original to a home or recreated, the authenticity and timelessness it brings is a subtle but strong home effect I simply just love and can never get enough of. And linen, I mean… if you’ve never curled up with a warm beverage or a glass of wine either in linen pants or under some type of linen blanket, I’m not entirely sure what you are waiting for? If cozy was a photo, linen would be it. So there you have it - two things I love that make home feel the coziest, why wouldn’t I use that? Also, my initial domain was already claimed!
